WHAT HUMAN’S CONDITIONS CAN CAUSE FOOD SENSITIVITY
Posted: under Allergies.
A virus, especially a gastric upset, can induce food sensitivity temporarily. Gastric upsets, in particular, disturb the natural balance of the gut and can exacerbate mild intolerance and allergy or bring on new intolerances. Take extra care after a gastric upset, if necessary going back to a strict diet for a while. Viruses, such as colds or flu, can also knock the system temporarily. Take extra care when you have a virus and afterwards; avoid food testing then, if possible.
Taking drugs, or having an operation, can also affect food sensitivity. Antibiotics, particularly, often affect the system.
Babies often develop temporary food intolerance when teething. Take extra care with diet at those times.
Overgrowth of Candida – candidiasis – can cause unexplained food reactions.
Finally, but not least important, emotional stress and worries can bring on, and exacerbate, food sensitivity. A sudden shock, a car accident, prolonged family or money worries, stresses at work – any kind of stress can affect your tolerance of food. Sometimes the effects can be delayed – the response to a bereavement, for instance, can take years to work through, and it is only in hindsight that you can see the connection. If you have stress or worries, even half-hidden, acknowledging their presence will help deal with food sensitivity.
